Our Story
Where quality seafood meets care, expertise, and tradition.
A Tradition of Excellence
In the early 1950s, my grandfather, W.J. Bursey, set out to improve the production and market potential of capelin, hoping it could compete with sardines and herring. While those efforts didn’t succeed at the time, the desire to make better use of this underutilized resource remained part of our family business.
Today, that idea has taken on a new life.
We create simple, nutritious treats for dogs and cats using the same natural resources that have sustained Newfoundland and Labrador for generations.
Our products are made from wild-caught fish harvested in the cold, clean North Atlantic and dried the traditional way—using nothing but fresh air.
I often wonder if my grandfather ever imagined his idea of using capelin would one day go to the dogs (and cats). I’m certain he never would have expected cod skin to be used in pet food, though it was once repurposed to make glue for fish boxes.
What hasn’t changed is our belief in using what we have, wasting nothing, and doing things the right way.
